Do Just One Thing
When you’re dining at fast-food or casual dining chains, you can minimize waste. Chains like Subway, Chipotle and Sweetgreen create far less waste by using simple paper wraps, fiber bowls and compostable materials instead of layers of plastic, foam and oversized boxes. Subway keeps it simple, with sandwiches wrapped in a single sheet of paper and tucked into a small bag, while Chipotle and Sweetgreen rely on streamlined paper bowls with optional lids. Even Five Guys embraces a low-waste approach, wrapping burgers in foil and serving meals in unbleached brown paper bags.
